Electric Plug in and mount

I found this on my Jeep and am not sure what it is for. Anyone have insight?

Bingo. This is for towing it - it activates the brake and reverse lights The only thing it would be good for is to activate those.

Your Jeep was probably towed behind an RV. The good news is that it means the Jeep probably has a lot fewer actual miles on the engine than the odometer indicates.
