    235/80R17's on a 7.5" wheel?

Question for the skinny tire crowd. Will a 235/80R17 fit well on a 7.5" wide wheel? BFG lists the wheel range as 6"-7.5" so it would be at the max for width. Thoughts?

To lift or not to lift, that is the question

Don't lift it. You can do a lot to improve offroad performance without big tires and a lift. New shocks (I'm a huge fan of the Bilstein 5100's) and a good set of tires would be good enough. Resist the need to go big and ask yourself if you really need it.

$379 to change at timing belt at the Toyota dealer?

Likely it's just the belt and labor. They'll give you a full quote for the the rest after they pull your truck in to do the work.

    4runner camper ideas

I used to have a 3rd gen and when the wife and I would travel we'd take the back seats out and put in a sleeping platform. There was just enough room for the two of us to sleep. I didn't have a fridge back then so when we were on the move, we'd just put everything on top of the platform. When...

    Why we buy Toyotas

I worked for Lexus for a number of years and I promise you Toyota's have their issues as well. I've owned 3 Jeeps (93 XJ, 99 TJ, 05 Unlimited Rubicon) and never had any major issues with them. I grew up in a Toyota family, went away and bought 3 Jeeps and then went back to Toyota. I feel like...

R50 Nissan Pathfinder vs. Gen3 Mitsubishi Montero vs. Gen3 Toyota 4Runner

I absolutely loved my 3rd gen 4runner. I foolishly sold it to buy an 80 Series and now 4 years later, regret that decision. I just recently bought another 4runner (4th Gen). I really wanted another 3rd gen, but to find one with 100k miles or less, you're looking at $10k plus. For a few...

check my reasoning on getting a 4th gen 4Runner

Your requirements in a vehicle are identical to mine. I have been daily driving a 91 Land Cruiser on 35's for the last 4 years and had finally decided it was time for something more civilized. Enter the 4th get 4runner. I just bought my 2004 V6 last week but love it. I'd never sat in one...

Owning and Overlanding in a FJ40 - What are the Pros and Cons?

Watch the first minute of this video and you'll see what it's like to drive a 40. Looks like fun to me! Back in my younger days, I used to drive a Jeep TJ and did many trips in it. For one person, there was enough room, 2 it got a little more cramped. You just get better at packing, better at...

Drivability of 35" tires compared to 33"

I went from 33x10.50-15's to 315/75-16's on my 3FE 80 with 4.88's. I did notice a little bit of power loss on acceleration but nothing I couldn't live without. I can cruise at 65 comfortably (75 is no problem either). This summer I towed my loaded 1/4 ton military trailer from southern CA to...
