Ah!!!!!

Listen close grasshopper..

Long bolt and washers...one pretty big washer that won't pull thru the 1 1/2in bushing hole.

Put the bolt in from the back with the thread sticking forward.

Put the bushing over it and then add a smaller washer that will cover the face (3/4in around.)

Then spray the bushing with wd40 and tighten the bolt..it will pull the bushing in..i used my impact.

Then greased the inside hole..and ended up using ratchet straps and a spudbar to push the sway bar into the new bushings.

Hour job start to finish!

Got the other side step on..it holds the,weight of my 400+lbs step son..so its good to go!!

9 day NIGHTMARE IS OVER!!!
Yolanda is FIXED!

7.3 powerstroke info to share. (2003 E350)

After changing my oil cooler gasket and replacing my oil cooler after I cracked the aluminum housing installing the block heater that I didn't even need to remove to change the gasket)

The van wouldn't run right. (van and trucks dont use the same oil cooler..vans are closer to the block because the exhaust manifolds go down not up like the truck.)

I spent an entire day searching Central Ohio junk yards could not find one. Found one on eBay and drove 400 miles round trip Monday night to get the van oil cooler from a fantastic seller who met me on 4 hours notice. Only to discover the next day that the van wouldn't run right.

It acted like it was starving for fuel and would chuff white smoke at 1/2 throttle. Buzz test was good. Oil pressures good and I went thru the entire fuel and oil system.

7.3 powestrokes WILL RUN without a fuel pump. The injectors can siphon feed themselves. I found this in only one reference on line after I changed my fuel filter as part of diagnosing and possible reasons why it acted like it was starving for fuel.

Turned out I had a broken wire to the fuel pump. Fixed it... after 9 days of full trouble shooting and waiting for my BAXF ODB2 reader so I could run a full diagnose.

Glad it was a cheap fix..but wanted to share that those motors are so damn TOUGH it would run by feeding itself fuel!!

unfortunately while she was down she didn't get to go to the Mid-Atlantic Overland Festival. I took the Jeep a trailer out for their very first time worked out pretty well but sleeping on the ground is for peasants. Picked up some new maps and had a great time rubbing elbows and meeting new people.

*note* supervisor dog was exhausted after 9 long days..

Today's build! My Craigslist $30 carrier rack converted to flip type for the front of the van..i already have one with aux lights for the back and I wanted one that would flip up so it could be stowed when we were not hauling firewood.

I had some 2in square tube and an idea.

Turned out pretty nice..i will need a bungee or strap to keep it from rattling and partially folding down.

Spent the weekend at Keweenaw Off-road Adventure Retreat!!

Michigan Upper Peninsula.

Got to drive all the way to the Top of keewanaw Peninsula north of Copper Harbor to the abandoned Rocket Range pad.

Lake superior was a little angry..and cold..

2000 miles...never missed a tick...20+in of water on the trails..

UP snow gauge in FEET!!
SMOKED FISH and spicy jams!!
Trails were muddy and tight..no worry for Yolanda, she ain't scared of scratches n mud. Huge cable drum and lift house for copper mine.
Kitchi-ili-kip spring 45ft deep!!

Very cool trip!

Everything's been going well gave her a week off after she pulled some pretty severe duty that's work was crazy I was working long hours and I was actually plugged in at work and sleeping in the back quite comfortably I might add for about 5 days.

I give her a week off to recover go to starter known as the fuel pump doesn't sound very well figures probably time she's got the 260 plus thousand miles. Also the alternator wasn't charging so I revved it up.

Mistake, oil will still thick actually ended up cracking the housing for the hpop reservoir. The new one just came in pull the old one off and I'm waiting for the gasket to show up but here's what the damage is, crack front housing give it off and look underneath and it's split clean through in the same area. Probably part of why I was having issues with it not wanting to restart when hot is that crack would open up and leak oil out of the hpop reservoir..

new fuel pump sounds great pretty easy to swap it out. Should have the gasket tomorrow and get her all button back up. New welding helmet ordered new LEDs for under lights on both the Jeep the van and the trailer. going to get the yoke ordered and the conversion u-joint to go for the stock 1310 to the 1410 yoke u-joint for the Sterling and get that installed the next couple weeks so I can have my e locker


Also ordered a set of these $100 LED 9 inch fogs for the Jeep and I love them so much I'm going to get two more sets for the van this winter, sidenote cool pillar switch from Amazon for twenty bucks

Those fog lights are bigger than I thought they would be looking at the ad pics. Throw some good light it looks like.
Those switches look cool.

yeah they are way way better than my 52 inch light bar but I have on the van. As soon as Christmas is over and I'm ordering for these bad boys for the front

Well ended up getting a new fuel pump, and it still didn't run right. It turns out I was 2 and 1/2 gallons low on oil. Got it filled up took it easy the first couple days and now she's back to her normal self blowin smoke and making little import cars look slow.

So now I'm starting to look at lithium iron phosphate batteries. A hundred amp hour lithium phosphate battery weighs 30 lb. And with a BMS I'll be able to use my regular solar charger and my vehicle alternator what's a dc-to-dc charger..

for the same size space my current 175 ahu takes up I can have a 300 amp hour battery that I can discharge down almost 90% vs 50% my AGM batteries can withstand.



Oh, and I ordered a cyber truck dual motor full autopilot.
