I am a little concerned about the lower CV axle making contact if things were to bottom out... It would be close. I'll do some function tests.

My compressor quit working, I'll troubleshoot that shortly. Would like to do the steens mountain loop before it snows.

Re did all the plumbing for the compressor to the tanks, to a larger diameter hose. The compressor is happier now, and runs a little cooler.

Wired the work lights, all connection are crimped and heat shrink. Then wrapped in Electric tape, and covered with a loom in the wear/ or exposed areas. Over engineered for sure, but should be really solid.

The plan was to tie them to the OE bed light switch, so they would be part of the stock timers, dash light etc. Much like my driving lights.

The weird thing, I pulled the dash switch, and regardless of the button position the same purple/ yellow wires stay hot... go figure soo I'll do that another day. Right now the + signal wire for the switches is just ties into the secondary fuse box I added under the dash.

I've also been slowly coating the frame with good ole flex seal black paint.


May have to do a IGN switch today, fun new game.... She does not shut off. Can pull the key out, dash lights, radio,etc go out, but she keeps running. Check engine light comes on, throws some codes. I have to pull the Ign relay to kill it.

Both the Ign and starter relay seem to be good. Switched them out with the ones from another and same things happened. They do have 260k miles on them,so I'll get some spares anyway.

Hoping it's just the Ign switch,


Even with the wiring I did yesterday, nothing was tapped into any stock harness or fuse box. All ran separately, even making my own harness and zip striping it to the large harness I built for the compressor, and the rear anderson connector/ mid ship battery bar.

Yeah, new ignition switch and relays did not make a difference. Thinking, maybe the BCM has failed...idk yet

I also hope I get it figured quickly and efficiently..

All good now, the ecm was not getting the right input between the ignition and it.

Ok, these are way better. I knew something looked hinky, and the speedo was off.

They put on 265/70 R17

Not the direct replacement of 285/70 R 17.

Les Schwab, actually called me when they opened at 8 to say there had been a mistake. I was figuring on taking a closer look today. It was pouring yesterday haha.

Haha right?!

Gets weirder, my mum was there and they needed that size for her truck. Hers is still stock, a lot of my family drives this same body style silverado. Mum, brother, grandpa, a few uncles.

They made it right, pulled my truck in as soon as I got there, took the keys outta my hand. In the bay next to mums, and away they went.

I have been going non stop, since the begining of the year. And Im not sure how many miles, She has gone a ling time with out needing much its time,

Although recently

Upper Icon Delta Joints ( the previous Icons were non greaseable)

Chasing a Gremlin-
New Fuel Pump, friday, oddly exctaly 8 years after the last one
New Throtle Body second one
New Mass Air Flow sensor second one
New Tac Module. ( Throttle computer) Was stock
New Gas pedal, ( fly by wire) Was stock

Rear dif rebuild- thats been a big pain. The shop thought replacement in kind meant LSD, not the Detroit they took out of it......they are trying to make it right
Rebuild valve body Third one

Even though its been slightly frusterating. Shes been a great truck, and she does not require much often.

Although if they offer a 1 ton electric version like the Hummer Ev, I may be tempted to switch. haha

How much wind buffeting noise do you git with such a large gap between the truck roof and the slide in camper extension when the camper is installed on your truck?

Eh, the gap is bigger than I'd like. But she's also a bigblock with rubber floors and 33's, cat back exhaust. In a world well it's all relative it's not bad.

Unless I'm eating a headwind in which case she is noisy a big part of that the engine.
