yamaha 01Gen concept

Yamaha recently introduced a scooter concept called the 01Gen. it's an ADV version of Yamaha's three wheel city model, the TriCity. Like the city version, the 01Gen's two front wheels lean into the turns.

Three wheel scooters are becoming an item in Europe. Piaggio, Vespa, Gilera and Peugeot offer them, and Toyota has a project 3wheeler called the I-Road that features enclosed bodywork and an electric motor. The dual front wheel design offers stability on damp cobblestones.

While most of these three wheel models have a 150 cc engine for maximum fuel economy, Piaggio has a version powered by a 500 cc single, capable of high speed cruising.

What exactly is the allure of a three wheeled scoot? I see them around the city here in SF, but don't get it. Seems like more things to go wrong.

The ADV version looks cool though..

Two thoughts: will the single rear wheel have enough traction to push the two front wheels through soft surfaces, and how will the front end handle off camber surfaces?
