The V2 can also be installed on a Ute Ltd bed:

Marc asked me to mention that although the V2 Camper can be installed on a stock Ute Ltd bed or a customers own custom built bed, they will need to attach the bed to the truck using the XP Flex Mount system. He also recommends modifications to the fuel filler intake to avoid issues caused by having a lower than stock fuel filler.

Questions:

Does the special pricing include the labor to install the camper, flatbed, and upgrades?
Is installation available in locations other than Grass Valley, CA?
How long does the installation take?
For trip planning, how much time should a customer allow for delivery after placing the deposit?
Will the camper installation work with any year and model of the current Tacoma (2004-present)?
Does the V2 camper fit on other midsize trucks, such as Nissan Frontier or Chevrolet Colorado?

I see that there are 3 Toyota dealerships within 40 miles of Grass Valley (Yuba City, Auburn, Roseville). Can I arrange to purchase a Tacoma through one of these dealers, and have it shipped to Grass Valley for the camper installation?

Yes, all the above prices include labor
Is installation available in locations other than Grass Valley, CA?
Not at the moment, but we are working on that for the future
How long does the installation take?
To install the flatbed and camper: 2 days. The truck upgrades would take longer, allow a week
For trip planning, how much time should a customer allow for delivery after placing the deposit?
The current lead time is 3 months, but we are working on reducing that.
Will the camper installation work with any year and model of the current Tacoma (2004-present)?
Yes, as long as it has the 6' long bed
Does the V2 camper fit on other midsize trucks, such as Nissan Frontier or Chevrolet Colorado?
Any mid size truck with a 6' bed will work. i.e.: Tacoma, Ranger, etc

Yes, Marc recommends Thompson Toyota in Placerville, but he can arrange pick up or delivery to suit the customer

Great questions Chip! I have talked to Marc and his responses are shown in Blue above. He also asked me to mention that a wider V2 model is in the works for 1/2 ton trucks (Tundra/F150/Ram 1500/GM 1500)

I had a request to post a pic showing the rear door open.
Note: the door on the production model will open higher

Some sort of lost...
Very cool, and reasonable pricing for the camper I think.
Seeing that a wider model for f150 is in the works makes me wish I would have bought another f150. I'm enjoying my jeep and camper but that is a very slick setup!

Also would like to see an interior pic facing to the rear (with your back to the fridge) so you can see the dinette, window and door setup. Great that the windows are at eye level.

Can we get more info on the "XPC flex mount"? Is this a 3 point mounting system? Any pictures, or a description of it? Will this XPC flex mount be available on the full size V1 XP Camper as well? Anymore info on the full size V2 version (for F150?).

Thanks.

Christian;
It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I got an Email from Marc today that said: " Fun Pics, Beware there are some dirty ones in there!!!!!!!!!" I was a little reluctant to open the photos at first, not sure what to expect. Here they are:

yep we left from my home in Tahoe and the first stop was the Prosser OHV, where we could play in the mud a little bit....then we headed over to Black Rock Desert, mostly all on graded/off road trails. we actually went to a different playa...a semi-secret one...where there is absolutely no one and no trace of human development.

it's was a great weekend with different vehicles - my stock 4runner, a Jeep Rubicon with Ursa pop-top camper, a Sportsmobile and marc's XPCamper V2.

each vehicle is very different and in my opinion no one is better, they are just better at different things.
