XPCamper Updates

It was recently pointed out to me that the XPCamper website is out of date, and that it is difficult to find current information. Hopefully I can provide some information here for anyone who may be interested.

First an introduction of sorts:
My name is Mark (with a k) Stevens and I have been a fan of XPCampers for years. I am the Canadian dealer for XP, but I don't own XP and I don't build the campers, therefore I can't guarantee the accuracy of all of the following.

The owner of XP is Marc (with a c) Wassmann. This is the guy who builds the campers. Hopefully Marc will chime in here from time to time to provide more info and set me straight when I get things wrong.

Sources of information:
XPC Forum: http://forum.xpcamper.org/
The most current information, that Marc updates regularly, is his XPCamper Facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/XPCamper-The-1st-all-composite-monocoque-pop-up-camper/177569615604637

There is also an XPCamper forum on Wonder the West - XPCamper Forum

Here are some interior pics:
The first pic shows the storage under the cab-over bed.
The last 2 show the only wood in the camper: a trim strip at the top of the lower camper section (this one is at the kitchen counter area) and the removable wood floor in the toilet/shower area. Correction: if you look at the dinette picture in post 15 you will see that the table is also wood, the floor looks like wood but actually isn't.

Here are some under construction shots:

The first pic shows the cnc machine cutting the foam panels for the exterior shell.
The second shot shows some fiberglass interior components.

Thanks for the update! Mark produces an amazing product. German technology and craftsmanship applied to the offroad specific industry.

Some more "under construction" shots:

Two water pumps - I'm guessing one is a low flow, high suction pump for the filtration system (AKA stream fill)? Is it self priming? Are the filters easier to access once the plumbing is fully secured? They look like they are buried in the picture. What is the white can in the picture, an accumulator?

Can you post pics and some info about the hydraulic lift system? Is it like the trim tab system on a boat? Where is the power pack and how easy is access? Is there a manual backup in case the system blows a seal and loses fluid?

How easy is it to access the top seals? It seems to me that this is a weak spot in the design. Those rubber parts are bound to be short lived in a gritty environment. Does the top have to be lifted off to access them?

Can you post some pics of the battery and solar installations?

Thanks for starting this XP thread.

lost, but making time
WOW ! Thanks for the photos, Mark.
The detail shots show a lot of attention paid and the quality seems to shine through.
Agree with Kevin; we are excited about the new, little one, too ! Can't wait :sombrero:
XPCamper looks to be coming into its own.
Big congrats to Marc ! ! ! :chef:

No, this is a set up for an R/O system the customer requested. There is plenty of space to replace and clean the cartridges for the filters

It's a system on a remote control. Yes, there is a manual back up.

All systems are easily accessible. That was one of my main requirements when iI designed the cabin. Since the system is inside the cabin it is not subject to a gritty environment.

Don't have any, take some of my next install. I can fit up to 4 300amp 6V in there though. :)

Thanks for starting this XP thread.

Hope this helps!
Between moving house and shop and building a new model I really haven;t had time to update my website. Will do once the V2 is out.
Cheers

So what can you do with your flat bed when you aren't camping?

Here are a few examples:
