XJ and offroad teardrop

It's been a long winter and I've got a lot done on the xj. I had trouble with posting pics so I'm way behind and I'm going to do a big photo dump,,,, First thing I did was built a new front bumper to move the winch out of the grill to improve airflow when towing the teardrop.. This was horrible and I'm glad I never have to build another one.... 19 bolts hold it on the jeep and I had to remove the front cross member..
Since the JK axles are 5 inches wider then stock xj axles I have to run stock offset JK wheels to somewhat keep the tires under the jeep. The only stock wheels I like are the Rubicon wheels so I bought 2 sets so I can have a couple for teardrop and a spare... Wrapped them in a set of 35/12.50 17 inch BFG KM2's, but the silver didn't look good on the xj so I knocked down the silver and painted them black... Bought a set of adapters so I could run them till I got the axles swapped in...

Oh yea and I already bought my next project... A school bus......LOL I've decided to quit trying to get the xj to drag a teardrop cross country, I've decided to spend a year building a camper out of the bus and towing the jeep. My son goes off to college in a couple years and me and the wife want to start traveling... I've got it in my head to wheel in every state..... No I can't ship to Hawaii but I have an Army buddy who lives on one of the islands with a jeep Rubicon so I think that will count...

A bus can be a very cool place to live while travelling...or just live in general. I have had a few friends over the years who have done bus conversions, and they turned out awesome. LOTS of space in there to get creative. I assume that it is a Diesel?

Nice combo. It should serve you well for years to come. 30' is a good size, still manageable and enough room for well...a room, as in a bedroom and a bathroom! Not sure if you "Netflix" or not, but I watched this a few weeks ago, and it made me happy...and want a bus.

The reason I stayed with a 30ft bus was to get into all state and National parks. I wanted a 40fter like everyone else but sites for large RV's are limited in the old parks were we want to stay... Plus it's the cheapest place to stay...There's alway's that.... Buy a bus Greg, worse case is you can make repairs and sell for a profit.... Bus's are getting very popular..
