Doesn't mean the ones on the road are legal and/or doesn't mean someone didn't spend another $10K getting it that way. Either way, false advertising. Get some hard conversion $$ figures before telling some newbie he can do that. Your "ad" should be removed if not. Period.

And to any new-to-exotic 4x4 buyers out there in Ca.: People advertise like this all the time with grey market Defenders, G-wagens and LC's and what they fail to tell you, due to greed, ignorance, etc., is that you will likely run into unbelievable headaches and legal issues trying to get these on the road. You will have to put the truck through a CARB certified conversion process which can cost $10,000 easily, depending on the make/model, sometimes its less, sometimes more. Any grey market car built after the mid 1970's is going to have issues. Some people have been lucky and slipped by their irrational laws but then you run the very real risk of later being taken off the road. A late 1984+-early 90's diesel can potentially be the biggest nightmare of all. There are many G and Defender buyers out there who gave up or even sold their truck due to this. Others title the truck out of state and drive with Montana or Washington tags. DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
