WTB: Toyota Tacoma or Land Cruiser 80/100

I’m in the market for a Tacoma, a Land Cruiser 80/100 - either turn-key and trail-ready (max $26,000 w/ full overland setup) or less with a moderate overland build that I can complete.

I’m setting out on a major expedition for 6 months+ across North America in December and I need a solid, well built rig to help me do it. Ideally looking for a vehicle that’s spent it’s life away from winter and all the salt that comes with it. Happy to travel within US/Canada to pick up. Any leads are greatly appreciated!

I checked out your rig earlier today actually, super clean but a bit above my price range as I would still need the RTT and some additional body armor. I’ll keep it in mind though!

@Rockey709 Been looking for one of those! You mention it’s a push diff locker, so far in my research I’ve seen the turn knob.

I’m assuming the push buttton is for the rear diff only??

We just brought home a new Tacoma on Thursday. Our well-cared for 2006 Tacoma, double cab, 4x4, short bed, V-6, auto will be available very soon - like a week. I've yet to take photos relative to the sale but I have a couple of images from past trips if I can figure out how to add them after this initial post. Briefly - Icon billet upper control arms, Icon reservoir shocks all 4 corners, Deaver custom rear springs designed for heavier loads (not add-a-leaf), Optima, Demello sliders, K&N, All Pro front bumper & skid plate, 8,000 lb winch. Nearly new factory Toyota front axle shafts & lower control arms. More, but those are the highlights. Also available is a custom bed mounted tool box, can carrier, and bed rack - though the bed rack probably isn't compatible with a RTT. I have the records of services performed since we bought it new. One owner, no accidents. Here is what may be the downside for some - 244,00 miles - though it runs excellently and you can bring your mechanic along to check it out. In the high-desert, 30 miles north of San Bernardino. Price hasn't been decided on yet but in the range of $12,000. This truck has been garaged its whole life in the CA high desert. No rust issues.

Speaking only on a 3rd Gen 4Runner id look for something different. Had one front and rear bumpers sliders under armor drawer setup roof rack and with two passengers the brakes couldn’t hang coming down mountains and that’s with the Tundra brake upgrade and stop tech heavy towing rotors and pads. Just to much weight for the vehicle.

Heres a link to mine if you are interested, I'm in San Diego, CA. Maybe we can work something out!

Sadly i sold my tent already but the rack makes it really easy once a tent is mounted to remove and reinstall

Looks solid but I might be leaning towards something a little less stock. Thanks for sharing though!
