WTB - Samurai or Something Interesting

I’m currently between rigs right now as I recently sold my Rubicon and taking my time browsing, looking for my next big build. In this “down time” I’d like to find something very reasonably priced, very few to zero known issues and ready to go play in the woods or drive across country.

Looking hard at Suzuki Samurais but would really consider anything, especially unique or more on the interesting side...’Mog, LMTV, Pinz, SJ410 Pickup, etc. No projects, need something reliable-ish and ready to hit the road.

I’m in the PNW but willing to travel for something if I want it bad enough. I have a pretty limited budget because this is a “between vehicles, vehicle,” but obviously if something piques my interest strong enough I could pony up a few extra dollars.

Sammie’s are a ton of fun and capable, reliable little machines. But, they are little machines and can become challenging to live with on a daily basis. I’ve had our 94 for 18 years now and it’s primarily used by my wife as her mountain town run about. The only things I would suggest is try to find a 1992-1994 model with tbi versus an older one with a carb. Stay stock (wheels, tires, suspension, engine tunes, etc...) since this will give you the most hp, mph, drivability until you learn its limits. Otherwise have fun and good luck on your next project.

Appreciate the feedback! I’m most definitely looking for a later model early/mid 90’s Sammy but they all seem to be on the other side of the country at the moment. I had an 88 US Spec Samurai when I lived overseas. Sketchy on the autobahn but a super fun rig that I miss a lot.

What is your budget?

No specific/set budget. What I’m willing to pay for one rig might be drastically different that what I’d pay for something else. Depends on location, condition, desire, etc. When you throw a number out there people will try and hit you up with their junk to see if you’ll blow your budget on it. I’ll know when I’ve found what I’m looking for. Right now I’m not sure what that is.

check out the BJ40 I just postd. You could fly down to CR next week and drive it back. Why you could be back in the great PNW in about two weeks. Of course, if you can get the time, a much longer trip would be way more fun.

Would LOVE a Brute! But, at the moment I’m looking for something much cheaper, an in-between sort of rig to hold me over until I settle on my next big project.
