Thought some of you might like these pics, Got home from parts shopping and these guys wouldn't leave the drive. These guys are not huge but they are not small as you can see by them size standing next to the disco! I was hopping the little guy wasn't going to sit down!

Something about a kitty "sleeping" in the back of your 130 makes the day end well.

Intrepid, won't take no for an answer marmot mechanic on Black Bear Pass

On May 8, 2012 I wheeled my Disco up to Black Bear Pass, Colorado. North of the pass the trail was not open off the pass summit yet due to snow. I take a photo and look back at my parked truck. There's a marmot mechanic standing up underneath my engine compartment checking out all my leaks and looking for more problems. SanJuansplusmountainWFjune8,2012 192.JPGSanJuansplusmountainWFjune8,2012 197.JPGMr. Marmot mechanic then goes over to my right front tire and checks out my old torn mudflap.SanJuansplusmountainWFjune8,2012 198.JPGSanJuansplusmountainWFjune8,2012 201.JPGI forgot that a customer is not supposed to be in the shop and Mr. Marmot mechanic gets down and gives me the Evil Eyeball letting me know to go back to the waiting room.SanJuansplusmountainWFjune8,2012 205.JPGThen in a pout that I'm not taking good care of my Rover, Mr. Marmot Mechanic runs off in a huff and refuses to do any more work while he eyeballs me from 30 feet awaySanJuansplusmountainWFjune8,2012 207.JPGAs I hang my head thoroughly repentant of my poor skills at taking proper care of my precious Rover, Mr. Gracious Marmot Mechanic has pity on me and returns to repair my poor truckSanJuansplusmountainWFjune8,2012 210.JPGAs he reinspects my Rover Mr. Marmot, ace Rover mechanic, climbs up out of sight in my undercarriage. Not being able to find him I grow worried. I open up the hood but don't find him. I go around to the rear and look under but still can't find him. I knock on the rear door and he scrambles down from wherever he had been working diligently and perches on my right rear tire waiting for the troublesome Rover owner to go away.SanJuansplusmountainWFjune8,2012 212.JPGHe finally completes his work and moves off to his rock office perch. I believe him to have completed his work. I climb in to drive away and he actually comes back from his perch to reexamine his work. I knock on my driver's door and he stops just beside my driver's side passenger door and looks up at me to display his dislike for my poor skills. I tell him I have to go and he sits beside me giving me a continual Evil Eye. I hang my head and start my engine and Mr. Marmot Mechanic finally gives up on me and runs back to his Rock Perch Office. I could not get a picture of him looking up from right beside me my but I felt very happy that he helped me out in my time of Rover need at 12,500 feet. It's so hard to find a good mechanic you can trust.

Some shots from our two week trip through the back roads and logging roads in Eastern BC & Western Alberta. We covered about 6000 kms over two weeks from Vancouver Airport and back.
