Howdy!

I'm thinking about picking up a Trailgrater for my '07 JK...but I have a gas shock installed. It looks like mounting plate for a Trailgater will just miss the shock mount, but the table portion is higher than the mounting plate and will be in front of my gas shock when it's closed.

Can someone measure the distance between the Trailgater rear mounting plate and the table when in the closed position? Should be easy and I'd really appreciate it.

This is what I'm trying to miss:

EDIT: Just saw your other thread - yeah I don't think it will work with that strut given your measurement photos, the left flange and the strut movement away during opening. Possibly relocate the strut?

2009 JKU with a table circa 2014/2015. Hope this helps - looks like there is a flange on the left side that might be an issue with the strut but the table might clear the strut. On mine the table mount is flush against the gate metal so I'm not sure how it will clear the strut mount on the tailgate. If you need other angles or shots in daylight let me know...

Just occurred to me - I saw this recently and it looked kind of cool - maybe a solution for you?

Awesome dude! Thank you very much for taking the time to provide the measurements. You are right...I don't think it's going to work. But, I'll mull it over for a week or two and see if I can figure out a way to fudge it. I've seen JKs that have a gas shock on the bottom, so it must be possible to move it.

That little table looks cool too. Haven't seen that before.

I have the outback tailgate table and a gas shock. The shock used to mounted high and until I moved it below the table...

It has been fastened using #12 self tappers and tiny brackets for years now (maybe 6-7?) ...never been an issue. Lots of forum comments about self tapping/drilling will fail l, but mine never did. I suspect people were using the gas charged strut to limit gate travel intead of the factory hinge stops or the limiting bracket. The shock has started to fail and barely provides any assit (and zero hold) however...when I replace the strut, Ill use 70# self dampening version as I now have a Titan fuel tank on the back.IMG_20190605_101837.jpgIMG_20190605_101900.jpgIMG_20190605_101831.jpg
No...the table is not crooked, just that angle of the photo. Ha.

Thanks. I haven't picked up an Outback yet...but it's on my list.
