What SD cards are you using?

Any recommendations on solid (fast) SD cards that you've had good luck with? I've got a Canon 70D and I'm not good at off-loading cards, more specifically I don't do it. I pull off the photos I'm interested in and leave all of the photos on the card as a form of redundancy. I don't shoot a ton so it's not like I'm filling up cards super fast. Here is the catch, perhaps I'm not super familiar with DSLR operations (I am not) but I feel like I have some cards that are faster at writing the photos than others, despite having the same "specs" by their respective manufactures. So, any recommendations?

Kurt,
I'm like you and end up with a bunch of SD cards. I've been using some Samsung class 10 16gb cards. they are waterproof and a littel tougher than normal ones.

Up to 24 MB/s read speed and 21 MB/s write speed
Class 10 Speed for the highest performance standard
From the world's #1 memory manufacturer since 1992
Water Proof - Can survive in sea water over 24 hours
Shock Proof - can withstand being run over by a 1.6 ton vehicle
Magnet Proof - Can withstand a 10K magnetic force equal to an MRI
Unmatched quality of Samsung genuine memory and a 10 year warranty

For the same price it looks like you can up the speed and double the memory but lose the durability.

I have been using the Sandisk Extreme Pro & Lexar Professional. Not sure if one is really better than the other. But both have been solid.

Hoodman steel cards have a great reputation for being tough, reliable, and very fast.

And expensive too :)

That being said, I haven't tried them and use a number of Nikon SLR's and have never really had issues with any brand of cards, I have a big assortment from 4Gb to 64Gb. I just buy the cheapest $ per Gb at the time (usually a step or two down from the largest capacity made) and make sure they have a lot of good reviews.

I always format them every time they go into the camera.

PNY elite performance there cheap and they are fast. I use these to record 4k video up to 100mbs, hacked gh2 up to 180mbs. works just as good as my more expensive sandisk extreme pro

I tend to stick to sandisk memory. Just because I find them more reliable than other brands. I have had other brands crap out on me, but I have never had a sandisk card flake out.
