What gas struts ?

Good Morning,

I'm building a Land Rover (yes, I know) into a camper with standing room in the back. Below a picture of the vehicle - you can see the aluminum "lid" between the B and the D hoop of the roll cage.

This lid needs to be lifted - horizontally - 700 mm. (roughly 27 Inch).

Weight that needs lifting (Roof + fabric) is about 20 kgs. (45 lbs.)

I'd love you hear your suggestions / solutions for this as we have some problems finding the gas struts for this - esp. what strength

Thanks !

I am using Bansbach Easylift gas springs on the pop-top I built. You can order pretty much any size and strength right from their website. Good accessorizes and support, too.

I think I need a bigger truck!
There are a number of companies out there that will work with you to develop and or build the right package for you for your needs. I am in Canada and used a company called LS Technologies (LS Technologies) and they were very helpful. We worked out the correct length and lift support rating.

Of course they also sell all the brackets, adapters, fittings etc.
