What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Had a small box made to attach my trailer wiring - thing is damn stout... could likely bash the crap out of it, and it'll still be there. Didn't dare use the weak pos that it came with (that cost me a wiring plug end after wheeling in the mud - pre lift).

Then decided that I needed to paint the rear bumper (and my rock rails) before leaving tomorrow on my road trip to Alaska. Decided that since I finally painted the bumper (have had it a year) that I could put on a pair of decals. My friends business that sells some neat jeep and lighting products (yes I'm pimping it), and Expo! The only two sites/places I would advertise.

Also finished up all the wiring (mainly just the Rigid SR LED bar).

Not something I did to my jeep... but came across these guys yesterday. Unfortunately when I came out (they were just ahead of me) it was pouring rain, so I wasn't going to ask if I could see the inside, and chat with them.

Naturally I had to park beside it... even if they were a ways from the door and it was raining.

Put in four new ball joints, Synergy. Took about 12 hours. A few of them took quite a bit of cranking to get out. Well worth it though. I like the way the steering feels a little more "stiff."

Took my ham technician test, and passed. Installed drop down tail gate, dual USB charger in center console by cup holders. The last I actually did 3 days after owning the jeep. Hard taking a 1-1/4 hole saw to the console of a brand new jeep.

With my Alaska trip delayed a bit, went camping. This was the trailer and the new tent/awning's first time out. Performed like a champ. Also showed me what I need to change (mattress & ladder for starters, and work on the overall stability of the trailer). Jeep pulled it with no issues, and with a nasty headwind on the way there (went to Pine Lk, outside of Haines Junction YT), averaged 14.9 MPG on the trip (~300km).

Picture was taken at midnight.

Well as my new trailer still isn't quite ready yet... and I didn't want to waste more time (should hopefully be ready next week), I decided that I'm going to leave tonight/tomorrow to Alaska. But as I'll be sleeping in the back of my JKU for the first few nights, I would need some sort of bug screens to allow for ventilation. Last time the sun would come out around 8am and with the black roof, it would get hot very fast. Well now I can open the windows some, and keep it cooler... I have some magnets for the bottom and the sides just in case the glue separates.

Have you ever checked out Skreenz?

http://www.skreenz.com/index.html

I have a set for my Honda Element and they work great! The price put me off at first, but then I found a guy selling brand new set for 1/2 off and that was all it took. They are really well made and there's no glue required!

When I finally get a Jeep I am definitely going to pick up a set.

Normal disclaimer: Not affiliated with the company in any way, yada, yada, yada. I just own a set.

Yeah, I've seen them before. I hadn't planned on spending more than 1 night in the back of the JK, in which case I would have just sucked it up. However it looks like the trailer won't be ready until next week... and I see little point in going to Alaska for less than 2 weeks. So I'm gonna go anyway, and will just sleep in the back of the JK till the trailer axle is fixed, then grab that and continue on. These are just to make life a tad more comfortable till the trailer is ready.

But honestly... I spent less than 1/3rd of of the $90 they want. I know mine are not pretty or anything... but for how infrequently I'll use them, they should work well. Normally I would just pull one of my trailers.

If I could sew, or had more time, I would have had someone just sew them together... but this was really a last minute thing.

Nice Septu!
Are these home depot screens?

I bought them from a local sewing place (who were apparently too busy to sew 4 straight line pieces together - which kinda ticked me off as it would have taken 2 minutes). I checked there before I made it to Home Hardware (we don't have a Home Depo here).
