I was going to take the test. but can't seem to find a place to take it in parkersburg WV. anyone know were to go take it. I guess i'll stick with cb's

definitely try and take the test. HAM is SOO much better than CB. study the questions online or but the helper book for a few hours and then cram for the test. the basic technician license test is not too difficult, but the general license is much harder.
HAM offers much better clarity, longer range and without the riff-raff babble you hear on CB. last night, we got my handheld HAM unit programmed and i was hitting a repeater approx 75 miles away and talking to someone over 100 miles away from a little 5watt handheld unit.
