Watches - ExPo Style

Ok, update. I tried on the 0201 Blackout and it felt really "cheap". It was very plasticy feeling as opposed to the Suunto, which is plastic but feels more solid. I think I am going to go with a Vector, but I found a Core for $50 and have to justify the difference. Those who have tired them why is the core $50 better?

You do not want the Vector series Suuntos. Our Suunto rep isn't even sure why they still offer those. The key differences between Vector and Core series watches is the navigation between modes. The Core series is "menu" driven. The fifth button selects modes. The two right buttons flanking the menu button make selections within the menus. The vector series is not menu driven. You have to sequence through modes as you would a traditional watch. Not nearly as easy to master.

The Core series is the number one series in the Suunto line as it relates to backcountry type watches. Great watches.

Tough, cheap, uber water resistant (proof) easy to see at night, lasts for years.

Nice, SKX007s are really solid watches. In my opinion they feel like they are of a higher quality than some high end watches. I used to have this customized one-

My old HRM is some 20 years old or more, and not as good as this one, and the chest strap on the old one has fallen apart.

Highgear Summit digital watch.. huge face, large case but has been very durable with over 6 years of heavy use.

Seiko Orange Monster.. great looking watch. I put the rubber straps on it. This watch is more for style.. because it's big, and offers less features than the Highgear digital.

Ollech & Wajs british military watch... compact case, swiss movement, white on black dial, nato strap.. $250 bucks.. what's not to like?

I have a Tissot T-Touch that I wear daily. It has some great features and looks very professional. I love this watch.

I also have a couple of G-Shock watches that I wear when I am getting really dirty. I am so impressed with how tough they are. I had one hanging on the outside of my motorcycle jacket for 3-4 years and it still looks brand new (after a wash). If you want a cheap durable watch with more than just some analog hands check out the G-Shock watches.

I have seen the Martac Pilots watch up close and it is extremely nice for the money. Paired with a brown leather Hirsch band and it is an unbeatable combo.

I recently sold a TAG Heuer Formula 1 and picked up this Ecozilla from Citizen. This thing is huge and could be used as a makeshift wheel, serving platter, or boat anchor if needed. :sombrero:
