I might not be the sharpest tool in the shed! BUT in times I can get by.
Last year I bought a Canon 5D Mark II and have enjoyed it. I have shot videos in the past year but have not done much editing from this camera till recently. I usually viewed the videos in Windows Media Player or Quicktime- no issue playing and reviewing them…UNTIL…. I tried to look at them through Sony Vegas, Magix Movie Pro 16 and a trial version of Adobe Pro 5. My heart sank when I saw the quality/rendering. Very choppy or slow while editing. My PC is 2 months old and is a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-130OF running windows 7 (64 bit) 8gigs of ram and 1 terabyte of space. I have a regular Sony video camera and small sports video cam that do pretty good when I edit……
I spent the last few days on many forums and found out this was a common issue with some of the DSLR’s. Many of the forums had mentioned Neoscene by Cineform and as tonight I have ran the trial version. I did a batch run on every Video that I shot with the Canon and when it was done went to the video editors that had trouble… problem solved. No freezes or delays.
My question is the Neoscene runs 99.00 to 139.00 and before I drop some money down would like to see if some of you advanced users know of a possible cheaper decoder that is out there.
Thanks- and happy 4th
