Vertical Bike Rack Options

Does anyone know of any vertical bike rack systems that could be used with a standard 2" receiver? The only one I can find is North Shore Racks and they are sold out on the 4 bike model. Any others out their I should consider? I'm looking to store 4 bikes (vertically) and a full size spare in a side by side arrangement on the back of my camper.

Time to revive this thread. I did some looking and found a cool custom rack on a flatbed camper over on the wonderthewest.com (see below). Any other new ideas or products out there?

Swagman just came out with a new one... the "Jackknife".

While not identical to the North Shore it is similar in that it hangs your bike vertically, and is in my opinion a far better design. It is based off of the Arbutus Racks 4 bike...licensed actually. There is zero frame contact whereas the North Shore rack will do your ride some harm over time. You should check this out... they are spendy, but any good rack is and these types (North Shore, Swagman Jackknife etc) will last for years.

That cab mounted rack is sweet!

Northshore Racks was the first I thought of, but if they're out of stock not much you can do.

Maybe Draftmaster would work. I've seen these in person and they look good.

Another I remember was Arbutus Racks, but their website is gone so I dunno if they made it.

Actually... there is a good story here, not a bad one. Swagman licensed the Arbutus patented design and it became the Jackknife. That Element belonged to a friend (sold it for a Taco...yay) who was the owner and engineer for Arbutus Racks. He designed what I believe is the best bike rack system on the market, and apparently so did Swagman. They have made a superb rack system based off the principles of the Arbutus design.

For the whole story check out my website here.

Indeed. Thanks for the update, glad to hear it.

No worries, yeah good story. Sad to see the Arbutus Rack go away, but it is better sometimes to let the big guys do the big work and simply pay you for your design's use. Sucks even more because I didn't buy the Arbutus when I had the chance during the first production run. Opportunity missed.
