lost, but making time
Kristian and Tom,
Thank you very much for the wonderful photos !
My wife and I were at Brimley SP the first week of Aug and drove around quite a bit from there (she wants to see a moose).
We saw The Big Spring, too ;) Amazing.
Thanks for the Northern Lights photo, Tom. That was the one thing she really wanted to see, well, that and a moose...
She did get to see a whole sky full of stars like we never see around here, though :D
The U.P. is one of our favorite places and I know we will be going back again and again.

As usual, freaking breathtaking!!! I really hope to join you guys one day, not for a competition but for just exploring. Especially that sandy beach campsite, I could stay there for days.

Looks like great fun. Keri-Ann and I were sad to miss the trip this year. Hope to see you all and the UP next summer.

Great stuff, I fell in LOVE up there this August. My wife and kids loved it too. Been all around the US, mexico and parts of Canada, gotta say, UP is one of the best spots yet,.....I grew up in eastern Ohio, and for those who havent been up to the "other" lakes (Huron Michigan, Superior) it is a WHOLE different experience, I had NO IDEA what I had been missing. Going back next summer, this time hopefully for two weeks. We really liked the the more remote State Forest, and National Forest "pit toilet" camping as opposed the the "RV" crowds at the State Parks, and as for the Picture Rocks sites, nearly impossible to get one, and NO reservation system. Although very few RV's too.

Unsalted and Shark Free!!

We were a little late for the event, but saw several folks "gathering" with there Expo Rigs in Munising at a grocery store., two large blackish Land Cruisers and a few Jeeps..

My 10 year old took the pic of the rocks at Iroquois Lighthouse, other is a ROUGH/WINDY, warm day at Whitefish Point (you could sandblast your rigs frame that day). You can keep East Coast beaches, I will take ANY on the Upper Great Lakes instead.....

Here are a few. I am going to try to get some more up later.

Mouth of the Hurricane River. The dark spot is an old sunken ship.

I picked up a new Canon T2i back in July and am just learning some of the stuff about it. Hopefully next year I will be able to take some better ones. I didn't get a lot of others that weren't on our team but if you want me to email anything I may have of you and/or your vehicle, shoot me a PM and we can exchange emails.

We had a couple from Kentucky in our group. There was also a guy, Peter, a couple years ago. All were great to hang out with!

Great photo's thank you for sharing! I am driving through on my way to Duluth from Cincinnati and will try to hit the same spots as you! Your pictures sold me, thank you!!

I've got a question for you folks, is there a way to get to Crisp Point from White Fish Point without backtracking? I'm having a tough time plotting a route on google maps/earth but if you know a way please post or PM me. There seems to be all kinds of unmarked trails, and I'm sure one could string them together to connect the two points. Thanks all and keep roaming!
