Sage grouse are probably my favorite bird hunt.

Planning already for next years sage, blue, and sharptail hunt. I'd like to take all 3 over points in one trip. Should be easy to do in 4 days.

What an experience, sitting in a tree stand hunting for white tail and a Ruffed Grouse sits on your head lol. There's video of it on instagram.

Dusty and The Marlboro man in the vast wilderness / public lands of Connecticut. :D

This was a beautifully work. A good but calm and steady wind helped her a lot to do a good quartering. She kept safely away but close enough so I could flash the bird myself.

That's Sundae, she's a Puedelpointer. She's a fantastic dog but she refuses to hunt with other dogs, she's a solo show. She'll be re-homed soon to a buddy who hunts with a Harris Hawk.

Reduction recipe?

I use Yoshida’s as I sauté, then add a bit of water and corn starch.

3-4 tbsp BBQ sauce (I use Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ Sauce)
1 tbsp chili sauce
3 tbsp sesame oil
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
2 tbsp Honey (I use Agave Nectar)
2-3 cloves minced garlic
1 tbsp minced ginger
2 tbsp sesame seeds

Looks fun. I was planning to head south for quail this yr but drew an aoudad hunt. Couldn't really swing the time off for both trips, and the aoudad trip was pure luck to draw.

But this year it's on. Gambel's, scaled, and mearns.
