Time to move on to another old-school, boxy, off-road proven vehicle of military heritage.

Meet “Gisa” (German girl name meaning “carved stone”), our new Gelandewagen. She's not my daily driver and I do plan on on and off-road driving of course...must use her as she was designed to be used!

Mods from Dealer:

My planned mods:
Front Bumper / winch combo - this may prove to be difficult as the PARKTONIC and DISTRONIC features are challenging to accommodate with a full bull bar / inch set up.
Full rear cargo fit-out (drawers, fridge, drop table, etc)
Bonnet light gaurds
Sliders (G-Raid?)
Possible Rear winch via hitch-mount option
Cup holder (anyone who owns a newer model knows why)
Transfer Case Gaurd
Possible vinyl wrap in matte black

New Bumper install. Imported a Taubenreuther front bumper from Germany to NZ. The kit included a WARN Zeon 10 Platinum winch. I finished it off with a Factor55 UltraHook with Rope Gaurd. It was the only solution I could find that was rugged for serious offroad use and still allowed the full functionality of the PARKTRONIC and DISTRONIC (adaptive cruise control) systems. The tower for the ACC camera is unsightly, but worth it.

Did you ever find a good cup holder for your G-Class? I have the same basket ball hoop cup holder and I am not a big fan of it. I am trying to find a better solution also.
