For those Aussies that might be interested Anglomoil an Aussie oil maker/retailer do have an oil specifically developed for portal hubs, it was actually originally designed for those big cranes you see running around on the road which used to cook the oil in the portal's leading to annual portal replacements, The oil developed contains a lot of teflon which makes them run much cooler and reduces friction as well. I ran the oil in my Humvee's portals here in Oz for about ten years with great success. If your local Anglomoil branch doesn't know about it then contact the head office in Mt Kuringai NSW.
