This is my custom title
I'm not a buyer, rather a former U500 owner lookee-lou... but some unimog geek questions: Does the camper sit on the factory accessory ball mount points? And does it have vario-pilot?

It does have vario pilot. Pretty simple to move the controls over.
The mog has about every option I think they could find that day.

As an M35A2 conversion owner/builder, I personally do not especially care for the Unimog as I would use it, this guy did a great job!

I have had the pleasure of driving this rig. It does have 24 fwd gears, 8 crawl, 8 working and 8 driving. 265 HP. In 2005 I don't think they had an option for the axle speed. It is limited at 70mph. Your best mpg, comfort and quiet is at 60mph but it will do anything up to 70 mph all day long. Rob Pickering at Terry Lee Enterprises mentioned a tuner could be added for less than 2k to bump HP to the early 300's, not sure it needs it though?

Pretty sure those tired are not rated to 70mph, or even 60mph and they are super noisy and wear fast. Bring lots of spares if you go to South America, 20" tires are unavailable!
