Hey Chris,

Can you give me some advice on the best way to remove the rear cross member that was used for the spare tire?

It seems to be riveted to the frame and I wanna do the less damage as possible removing it.

I just spent an entire day doing it. No plasma cutter available unfortunately. I used an angle grinder, cutting wheel and air hammer. Then had to cut two ears off once it was loose to get it out. It wasn’t fun.

Don’t know if the diesels have charcoal canisters for the evap system, but I have to figure out how to mount that now too. That isn’t a small system either lol

Depending on how much room you need I was able to rotate mine and sheet metal screw it down to a cross member than I now have a welded piece on my cross member I built not shown to hold the back side.

Are you referring to my comment about the evap system? Mine doesnt look like yours. What year is your van? which engine?
