trooper trail shots

I would think a plate bumper or something approaching that would be necessary. The pivot is way out on the corner of the bumper so the door can open fully, and there isn't much structure there under the factory bumper. The bumper I have is strong, probably overbuilt really, so my fab guy didn't really have to do anything more to mount the swing-out.

Howdy gang. Some of you I know from the Planet, or various FB Isuzu groups, but I'm new to exploring around on EP. Here's a couple of shots of Suzi and our camp trailer in the works, Sid. Latest additions are my front bumper, fabbed up with a friend of mine out of 8" C Channel, 8.5k winch, and my handheld ham radio. I'm a new radio operator (KG5KWX), so a more powerful mobile unit is on the wish list, but man, using repeaters, I talked to a guy over 100 miles away from a 5 watt handheld radio. Pretty awesome.
The trailer base is a work bed from a '56 pickup. All orginal drawers inside, known as a "plumber's body". It's come a long way in the 10 months we've had it, adding suspension (no, there was NONE), battery box, and LED lights. Next round is more appropriate tires and a 12v fridge. And a paint job to match the Trooper!

Cheers!
Mike

Wyoming last August. Bald Mountain.

And this is the view facing the other direction from that same location. You can see the Morrison Trail zigzagging up the other side of the canyon. We went up that the next day.

I was able to make it out to the sun tunnels in Utah's West Desert over the winter solstice. Out of the 30 vehicle that made it 3 were Troopers. MIne is the Black 1989 in the foreground.

That is a large concentration of Troopers these days.

Interesting camp site, hope it wasn't windy.

It is a very interesting campsite. It have become a go to destination during the winter and summer solstices because the sunrise aligns with 8 foot high concrete tunnels. It is out in the middle of no where and its always windy. Being near the salt flats Great Salt Lake and Bonneville Raceway, its about the flattest on earth so the wind can really get moving.

Here is what the sunrise looks like on a clear day at the sun tunnels. This year it was too cloudy.

Just get some OME rear coils (three different lift/load ranges available), adjust the front torsion bar ride height to match. Tires (up to 285/75 will fit with any lift at all) and maybe some sliders for peace of mind. Planet Isuzoo is the best Isuzu forum out there.
