Overland Adventure Trucks is humming away.

So for the cabover bed, since it is only 48" I assume you would have to add a rail to the sides that extends out to 80" (for a queen bed) from the front, and then have a platform that you can slide back into place? Is there enough clearance under that window for a large panel to slide under that window if it is sitting on top of the cabover? It's hard to tell from the pic just how much room there is but Just you might want to move that window up a tiny bit.

The window size and location can be selected by the customer. We have several solo travellers that do not need the bed extension feature. Another one will be using the cab over space for storage and convert the seating area into a bed. That's the beauty of our campers. Maximum flexibility for each customer.

Nicely done! What are the roof weight capacities for the 5’ and 6.5’ campers? If there is or will be a roof rack option, what will be the capacity of said roof rack system for either size camper?

Thanks in advance.

Happy Holidays!
Great interior build shots!

What does reality look like these for days
for those of us on the East coast USA?

I tried several times (admittedly some months ago) to buy a flat panel kit or a shell.

At first the shipping a container was prohibitive (I think at the time it was $8000 to Ct. i completely understand that this is way outside your control, and was what the market dictated, we have all seen the pics of the cargo ships circling the ports for weeks/months. But still for me takes the value out of a flat panel kit(which I really want!!, I’m completely sold on the concept, but like many here have a wife and a kid who is a college junior, so my dollars have to work for me)

The second issue was when I tried to import a completed shell from your Montreal area distributor, they told me that there was a 30% import duty, this conflicted with what the head office said and I got scared :).
That makes the $17,000 Empty shell $22,000.

I hope this does not come across as trying to hurt your business, I just would like to see this info in public space, as it seems to change over the phone. I am not even implying there is any attempt at deception, it seemed to be “new distribution network” communication issues.

So short recap- I love what you are making. I want one and get grumpy when I see all the cool build shots here and on Instagram, and it appears the deals are all north of the border:)

Agreed Ripper, I too love their product and tried to purchase a flatbed kit....wife seemed ok with the cost(Which appears more becausr we are Canadian and paying CAD)

We live on the east coat of Canada and we too found the shipping very prohibitive given the cost.

We are somewhat use to it, as we fins with alot of our overland gear we almost always pay the cost of the item for shipping costs.

Looking forward to a possible trip out west so i may score one yet

great feedback and questions! First off my apologies about the mixed information. The dealer in Quebec is not with us anymore…

it is indeed true that we currently have nobody on the east side of the continent to help potential customers. If you know an interested builder, let us know!
without a dealer it’s difficult to consolidate orders so the freight charges can be split between parties. Going that route would reduce the freight charges to roughly $ 2500.
the 30% duty is correct. This was put in place by the US government several years ago for anything coming from China. The sad think is that those fees are paid by the American consumer and not by the Chinese… as published by the media. But even with those fees our camper kits are still a very cost effective way of building a true 4 season expedition truck compared to a finished vehicle.

in any case, our goal is to have partners all over North America within the next two years to keep up with the demand. Especially for our truck campers. There are currently not enough places to put them together for customers to purchase. Everyone that has seen them in person was blown away and I’m very confident that they will turn the truck camper market upside down with its thermal efficiency , quality and weight.

Merry Christmas and thank you to everyone for their support!

First this works both ways ,I imported a small new motorcycle camper trailer from US to Canada two months ago. By the time I had it plated in my name it was 50 % on top of purchase price . Do you think you would ever look at making something that could work on a new ford Maverick , they are selling like hot cakes ? Merry Christmas to all.

at this point there is nothin in the making for the maverick. Dont think that’s the right truck to put a camper on. The bed is shorter than on the ranger. This means a camper that shorter than 5’…. Payload is also way too low to consider a 500lb camper.
cheers
