Toquerville Falls, Washington County, Utah

Toquerville falls is a series of cascading falls over sandstone slick-rock created by a small creek just north of St. George Utah. Access is just minutes away from I-15, so if you are planning a trip to the Mojave, Moab, or Durango area, this little detour is highly recommended.

It's a 'tourist trap' due to it's proximity to civilization, so you are going to see more fellow travelers and locals than some of the other more obscure routes in the area; however, it is highly recommended as the falls were stunning, even late in the season (we went during Labor Day weekend).

There will be a sign warning you about the "rough road" and the locals tend to talk about how rough it is...but that's because many are trying to take sedans and road-oriented cross-overs to the falls. If you are familiar with Moab think Chicken Corners without the wash-board.

There is also an optional overlook, which is a maintenance access road to some communication towers (including repeater W7DRC for you hammies, which provides excellent coverage for the valley below), and primitive camping sites are available in the creek area below.

Anyway, it's a great place for a day-trip and a perfect detour on longer expeditions.
