wuz purdy simple to do
the video might offer some visual orientation.

not pictured in the video was the routing of the cable
from the firewall to the gear shift lever...
Cable comes in under the console plastics
and rises up inside the gear shift boot to reside in the lever's seat.

not mine... but what that looks like...

all the necessary parts were purchased off ebay fairly cheap

friction shifter was found on Amazon

I used SRAM 1.1mm X 2200mm SS wire cable.
with 6ft L. X 4mm OD sleeve/casing (1.2 mm teflon inner core)
* you may need 7ft length for the 3rz models (I ordered 7ft cut those to size)

here's a coupla' detail pics of the cable end / linkage...

nice solution to the throttle mount.

I have been trying to figure out a good mount for my premiere power welder throttle cable and couldn't come up with anything decent. I just connect it when i need it.

do you think there is any safety issue with the cable getting hung up on the throttle at all?

I have no issue or real concern...

I changed the wire end crimp to the appropriate size. (actual end crimp)
It's smaller and lighter... the wires don't really abrade each other... even tho' they share the same seat.
From what I've observed, only one wire has tension on it and the other rests free.
The cable's seat seems wide enough for both cables without pinching/bind.

I throttled up with the foot pedal depressed, held/raised rpm with hand throttle
also did that in reverse order... hand throttle down, depressing foot pedal for acceleration.
and no bind or misalignment during those attempts to see if it would fail.
so far no issue.

I didn't think it would work this well... but it does.

It's still only as safe as the driver tho'... misusing it could still spell disaster.
Maintaining it and being sure the linkage continues working smoothly,
is probably just smart thinking.

I was driving all over town the other day, seeing if I could smoothly clutch/shift
while using the thumb control as throttle...
got it down for the most part... a little rough during the learning stage tho'

Can't wait to try it out on a trail in 4X/low
