Thoughts on Wilderness EMT Schools?

Over my career as a firefighter/paramedic, I went to several wilderness EMT and rescue and survival type schools. All were excellent learning experiences. One of my favorites was an air crew survival course put on by retired Air Force PJ's. Another notable was at Squaw Valley ski area in Lake Tahoe. That one was mostly Doctors (a lot of them doing remote medicine in Africa, and high altitude expedition stuff). Canyoneering school, whitewater rescue school. all great memories. If you can go to any wilderness school I say go for it!! It doesn't matter that you aren't doing EMT stuff as a career. If you go outside at all you'll use that info you learn eventually. Cheers!
