Thinking about a Sequoia

New shocks certainly wouldn’t hurt but I’m sure the springs have a lot of life left in them. I went the simple route on mine and put 5100’s on the front set at the 3rd notch on the original (259k mile) springs, it went up almost 1 3/4”. It sits dead level now and the ride quality is great. If you want a little bit of rake set them on the 2nd notch for 1” of lift. You’ll be able to fit 32’s (275/70’s on the factory 17” wheels). The 5100’s marketed for the rear are actually too short for these trucks, use the 4600’s instead. If you want to lift the rear LC100 springs will give you about 2” or there are 10, 20, and 30mm spacers available.

Thank you for the reply! That's exactly what I am looking for. I wouldn't mind 1"-1.5" but am really trying to avoid going overboard and needing to rebuild everything just to fit bigger tires.

Got the Sequoia out on her maiden voyage w/ the ARB awning and screen room. We went down to Frisco in the NC Outer Banks and camped for a few nights before heading back up the coast to stay in Nags Head for a couple nights. Can't wait to get some progress made on suspension/wheels/tires/lbjs but am very happy with the setup for the first trip. I ran 100watt solar panel all day to power my ARB 50qt fridge and it worked pretty well - only had to start the truck a few times when things got cloudy for long stretches.

Question - do you think a 2006 Sequoia that's had the frame replaced under warranty is a good candidate (vs vehicles that have been coated or were in low-rust states)? Vehicle was in MA and has about 100k miles on it.
Bought an '07 with 116k miles last year that had the frame replaced just before I got it. It already had some lift in front to fit oversized tires/rims but sat a bit lower in rear. Replaced rear shocks/springs sized for a 2" lift and leveled it out. Just did all new brake calipers/pads/rotors. It is a bit underpowered .. but otherwise, I love it. Hauls plenty of cargo and gets me through the stuff I need to get through when out camping, hunting and other outdoor stuff.

I had a J80 and switched to a 06 Sequoia limited.
Needed the space, liked the greatly improved ride quality and much better mileage!!

Off road the lack of a Rear locker is the weak spot. Out side of that the 05-07 which got a much needed bump in power and the 5spd both a must have. The upped power does mean premium fuel for highway and heavy hauling. Regular is fine for low key around town. But to avoid pinging and rattling even covered in owners manual the 4.7 wants premium fuel for highway high speed stuff or climbing etc.

The LC off road ability is about the same unless you get a very rare rear locker. Both have a center locker. Which does make a difference.

Space and mileage? sequoia wins easily. Off road both are about equal without rear lockers

I only get about 35,000 40,000 out the brake pads so be aware of pad life.
The stock 18’s are pretty decent. I was warned to be careful of going too big on up sized tires. Front gear box apparently doesn’t like big tires. Slightly bigger than stock is fine but don’t get crazy 34’s etc

Looks good! What UCA's did you use? Tire and wheel specs? I have the least off-roady tires (Goodyear Fuel Max) on my '04 and am thinking about something else before winter.

I ended up going with the SPC UPPER CONTROL ARM SET and Falken Wildpeak 275/70R17s.

Really happy with the way it feels so far.
