Hi Manu,

Many thanks for the link to your thread on the Spanish equivalent of Expo. This Spanish website seems just as equipped as Expo with "advanced graphic capability". And in your build thread you've clearly taken full advantage of that capability, packing your posts with abundant pictures....:ylsmoke:

.

Hello, sorry for the inconveniences, that's why the title says "cuidado, muchas fotos" (watch out, many pics)

In the beginning of your build thread you explored various interior design possibilities. But as near as I can tell, at present you are still occupied with refurbishing the chassis and its mechanical components?

Yes, I'm still stuck in the documentation phase :( so I don't dare to put too much money and effort into it. You never know.

Thank you very much for such a great amount of info, I'll study it and try to learn as much as possible.

Best regards.
Manu

Hi Manu,

That would be an excellent sub-title for this here thread too!

"Ciudado, muchas fotos " (watch out, many pics!!)

Just a quick update. Putting all my notes together is taking me longer than anticipated. Mainly because of an unexpected surge of job-related work. But I'm still on it. To be continued...

No worries, take your time.

Again, given the engineering direction that the TerraLiner has taken, even if it were a "real world" production vehicle, it could only roll out circa 2021, at the earliest. The TerraLiner would want to take full advantage of the drivertrain developed and tested by Nikola, which will not be available for purchase until roughly 2020.

But it's very exciting, isn't it, to find that the drivetrain that we've been imagining in this thread, has not only been imagined by serious engineers; they've actually built it!!

All best,

Probably lurkers who got the idea from this thread to begin with. :)

YES!!! I've been following the development of the Nikola One for some time now and is very cool how it closely matches what we have been discussing here. Very validating too, as you mentioned. I read a lot of negative comments about it before the unveiling of the physical prototype and the news of their partnership with Rider. And what they are doing with fuel cells is very cool. Also glad to see they have what it appears to be a viable business model.

Probably lurkers who got the idea from this thread to begin with. :)

Those thieves! *shakes fist in the air* Haha.

The fuel cells would work well for a long haul truck that rarely travels much off the major highways - but for an expo rig I think a traditional generator or a turbine would be more appropriate.

There also may be significant service requirements on the fuel cells which requires regular maintenance to be done - again - not an issue for a truck racking up miles driving back and forth nearly the same route - but potentially another factor to consider.

Very interesting venture to keep tabs on.

Hi Haf-E,

Really nice to hear from you. Agreed re generators versus fuel cells.

Did you see that Nikola is using Meritor IS? What do you think?

Nikola also uses a six-motor solution, whereas we were positing three larger Tesla motors, driving three cross axles. As always, your thoughts on this would be most valuable....

All best,

Biotect here, just inserting a message to reactivate the thread, rendering it more accessible for various people who might want to look at it.... People like Zeynep and Kay.
