Not sure why I hadn’t thought of it before (and I apologize if someone mentioned it previously in this thread), but paella must be an amazing recipe for the skottle. OutdoorX4 just published a great recipe for paella in their latest issue. With a sangria cocktail recipe as a bonus!

More skottle testing in the garage today. Finally figured out how to make perfect jasmine rice. This should unlock a whole new menu of Indian, African and American dishes: currys, stews, gumbos and more. The possible combinations of vegetables, spices, and proteins are endless: chicken, lamb, goat, shrimp, beef . . .

Testing is good!!! The food looks to die for!!! Thanks for sharing!

Unfortunately I didn't get any good pictures but I did make some great food this weekend. Marinated elk steak tacos with pepper jack cheese for dinner and sausage, egg and cheese burritos in the morning made with elk breakfast sausage. If I don't get an elk this year and every year here after I'm not sure how I'll survive.

Definitely! You would need to be careful when simmering a beautiful skottle full of curry, vegetables, rice and meat if there is a hungry crowd around. You might get trampled!

Bump for some fresh ideas. I was digging through this thread for some appetizer ideas for this past weekend's campout with the Boy Scouts. After also searching the Googles for ideas I cobbled this together. Venison Sausage, brown some butter/olive oil/garlic, add baby portobello mushrooms, add asparagus. It was finished off with sliced Italian loaf bread in the middle of the Skottle and I tried to torch the tops but my torch wouldn't stay lit. We served it with sliced meats, olives, and fresh mozzarella cheese on the side.IMG_20200222_144000177_HDR.jpg
