TeardropsNW Ranger

Picked up a 2019 Teardrops NW Ranger last year. Wanted something small to pull behind the Landcruiser. Looking for an expedition trailer that slept 6 was the goal and I think this will work! Honestly finding something that slept 6 and could haul 6 bikes was kind of amazing.

Day I brought it home, trip with bikes on the back, and trip with canoe.

Borrowed a friend's RTT last summer and took a trip out to Montana/Idaho/Utah. First test of the 2 Inside/ 4 Upstairs plan. Worked good, nice setup for camping with 6.

Made some enhancements during the off season. Swapped out the tiny front box for a new double cabinet. Added a 100W Solar Panel and MPPT Charger. Also took it back to TDNW for new kitchen drawers. The original owner had gone pretty cheap on options so we added the double slide drawer and cook partner stove. Also got our own roof top tent now. CVT Rainier Hybrid.

Overall great experience so far. Love being able to fit this in the garage when not in use and the simplicity of it.

Mods I'm looking at are:
More Solar
Adding Insulation
Adding Water Storage
Adding General Storage

Congrats on the TDNW trailer!
We just took possession of the same model last December, and are loving it.
-As for adding more solar, look into the Light Leaf curved solar panel that TDNW offers. They can install on your galley hatch. 100w, and keeps your house battery very healthy.
-General storage…we mounted a cargo box on top of ours. Campchairs, firewood, table etc all ride up there. Would compete with RTT though for space.
Enjoy it. Ossie and Kim are great to work with.

Yeah they have a cool operation there in Salem. The teardrop is just a nice combination of hard sides, premium galley, but still small and easy to tow. Did you opt for Lithium battery with the light leaf solar?

We did get the Lightleaf solar panel, curved to match the curvature of the galley hatch. It’s a sweet piece…robust but light, mounts completely unobtrusively, can be used “remotely” via a long power cable, and charges even in reduced or partially-blocked sunlight.
We opted for the standard 12v lead-acid batteries (2x, 6v golf cart batteries). We’ll run these until/if they lose capacity, then upgrade to a large AGM. Between the solar, and the 7-pin connector charging while underway, we haven’t had an energy crisis yet.
Really impressed with their small business. Solid product, made locally by solid people.

Another great weekend with the trailer. Cold nights were no problem with the propane heater, the awning gave us a comfortable place to be during a brief snow squall, and cooking in that galley was a treat.

Lincoln Rock SP? We've used that as a quick overnighter to split a long driving day.
Wenatchee Confluence. Its nice but you gotta be on the ball with the 9 months in advance reservation window. Washington camping is pretty ridiculous right now.

I just looked it up, they're not very far apart :) Looks like they take good care of it. I haven't had too many issues getting spots, though we usually don't do as much camping during the prime time of summer. We do lots of off and shoulder season trips.

Nice weekend out at Fort Flagler. Setup the CVT Annex this time for more space. Great setup and confirmed I'll be adding the 180deg awning prior to our Baja trip this fall.

Love your teardrop and LC. I'm assuming your 100 tows it just fine?

I've been thinking about making the transition to a teardrop w/ RTT but was worried about space with the wife and 2 kids, especially with the wet weather here in the NW. You're doing it with 6 so I think it should definitely be doable for us!
