Suzuki jimny , tiny touring australia

Hello to all , about a year ago I decided to sell up and buy a bus to live in fulltime, doing this meant that I had to make compromises by selling my jeep and my Hilux and down sizing to something under two tonne in weight , so I choose a suzuki jimny ,I could of gone for a jeep JK and probably will in the near future, but for now I'm enjoying this little pocket rocket ..... so here is the build on jimbob the adventure machine , you can also follow us on Insta: tinytouringaus

The car:

2004 Suzuki jimny
M13a 4cyl petrol
5sp
Divorced transfer
Part time 4wd

The first thing off the chopping room floor was the suspension , I opted to go for the 3" 4xFourart conplete lift out of turkey this kit is the best ive had in any suzuki , it allows for maximum flex and still rides like stock onroad.c67fbd_f60abc5343074263906fd6f947fa5f59_mv2_d_2048_1895_s_2.jpg

All my with suspension I also took the opportunity to fit a set of 15x7 -12 sunrasier rims wrapped in 30x9.5.15 maxxis att bighornes
Along with a front and rear olec steel bumper set with swingway tyre carrier.

I will upgrade these with Jerry's and a cargo cage very soon.

Well since my last posts , I have put 100s of hours into this little rig,

First was the custom iPad dash install, custom cargo barrier ,false floor, custom sterio and draws set up

After we had this sorted I turned to the battery system adding an optima yellow, to use for my cFX28 waeco, camp lighting and winching duties

I also took the chance to to reinforce the bumper mounting and fit s carbon 4500 winch.

Brakes and axels

After fitting the 30X9.5/15s on 15x7.5 et-12 beadlocks i found the rolling mass too much for the jimny braking system , so i did some research for a set of rear axels and found the zukitup full floater conversion , this rund my standard suzuki disk on the rear with vw calipers , it allows axel to be removed without the wheels being removed.

What I had to do as strip the original drums bolt on the adaptor plate, machine the front carriers and fit these on the back
