Super Pacific - New Wedge Camper

Super Stoked on Super Pacific...I bought a 2020 Ford Ranger in November and soon after, made a trip out to AZ (from CA) and spoke with ATO about a wedge, specifically the Summit. Build quality was solid and they were more than generous with their time while I was there and gave me a tour of the shop. I was able to geek out on all the other models as well. At that time I was quoted $11,300 for the basic topper with a Tern window and side hatch. No paint, no electrical, no racks. A $475 mounting fee and of course AZ tax was part of that price. I sat on the quote while I pondered a few options and waited for some changes to be approved by ATO. During that time, ATO raised their prices. 30 days had passed since my original quote so I now was looking at $12,600 for the same model. I was bummed they wouldn't honor the original price but I understand that is business. Anyway, the night before I was going to submit a deposit for the Summit I saw an IG post for the Super Pacific X1. It intrigued me and I called the next morning. To my surprise Spencer answered the phone. I had a list of questions which he happily answered...the conversation was easy and informative. I was super impressed. I did some research on the forums to get a feel for the product and made a second call to Spencer a few days later. Left a message this time and received a call back later that same day. This again impressed me as it can be very difficult to connect and speak to a "live" person these days, especially the outdoor vehicle and accessory industries. Long story short, after a couple calls with Spencer and a few emails with Cindy, I have since placed my order with Super Pacific. Current build date late September but I expect there could be delays based on the fact that although the engineering for the Ford Ranger has been done, it is my understanding that none have yet been built. (which was also the case at ATO by the way) I have been building trucks for exploring Baja and beyond for almost 30 years and I am confident that I made a great choice for this next project. I'm stoked to have discovered the X1 and more than confident in the team at SP to produce a great product equal or besting the Summit. All this at a savings of almost 4k which will go a long way towards the other expenses on my rig.

I love the customizability of the topper. Got the fridge put in. Just finished building and installing my 12V DC electrical box and solar panels. All that’s left is the wiring!

Loving those pics aqua! I'm expecting to have a very similar configuration with the decked system, fridge and electrics. Quick question, could you tell me the height from the top of the decked deck to the underside of the sleeping platform?

I wonder if this is the final prototype because that’s a lot of height to compensate for the shark fin antenna. The guys with out the antenna will have a huge gaping hole underneath. I was hoping it would be as low profile as the f150 is.

Lots of info on the shark fin issue on the Tacoma World SP thread.
 
I don’t think it looks too bad. The nice thing with the gap is that it can accommodate a full Prinsu-style rack if you want. It’s so low on my F-150 that I’m thinking of constructing a half-length Prinsu-style rack that some Tacoma’s have. I think it’d be nice to have just a little more space for a rack to mount traction boards or a Pelican case.
