Sunroof fan... Brainstorming

sunroof / rain would be an odd bird, but easily solved. You just make a double decker insert, the top later is solid and a bit wider than your sunroof opening. Do the math on the area of your fan opening(s) in square inches, divide that by the circumference of your sunroof opening and you get the height of the gap you need to create between the fan insert and the solid cover. That gap being sufficient to prevent any back pressure on your fans. The gap / height will be surprisingly small when you calculate it out.

eta - I decided to ignore that thin window gap down the side in my window insert design. Still planning screen mesh sleeves to put over the window frames so I can lower the windows. But it could be readily addressed with a second insert panel, made to sandwich on the glass same as the fan insert. Some velcro tabs / straps could tie the two together or just do it with some careful fitting so that when the window fan insert is in snug, the window side gap is plugged.
