This was at Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky in October 2015. We are headed to Overland Expo West in a couple of weeks...

Not mine but I thought the pictures of the Subaru's built by LP Adventure in Quebec would be appreciated here.

I'm not sure I am impressed with those "skid plates" attached to a 1" tubular grill guard. I think that is giving a false sense of security. I like the tubular grill guard as a brush guard, but it's not going to take any kind of rock pounding that is implied when you add skid plates.

It is kind of bad@$$ though.

There are rally coilovers, but those are custom jobs, and they run at least $2k. Not to mention it's a pain getting the builder to actually sit down and build you a system. I tried to get an allwheelsdriven coilover for my Forester, but after promising to get back to me multiple times, but never actually doing so, I just ended up allocating the money to getting carbon-carbon brakes for my Elise (yes, totally different application).

Considering that a suspension lift affects axle angles and a body lift leaves the axle angles (mostly) stock....

Yeah, there's a lot more to it than people being cheap.
for you maybe.

5th gen i can get a good 4 inches out of the front with no issues and in the rear i can get about the same with some custom trailing arms and a 2" subframe drop.

I looked into providing a coilover setup, but the customer base for the 2k total price tag it would cost wasnt there factoring in the subframe spacers and trailing arms.

Go away if you are going to be an ************.
Subframe spacers are there to correct geometry. With a coilover setup you still get the travel.

Oooohhkay.

And just what do you think that "subframe drop" is.

Oh, right. Body spacers.

This.

You do gain 4 inches of body clearance but your true ground clearance (ground to diff) is only a gain of 2'' because of your 2'' sub frame drop.
