Subaru BRAT "am I crazy"

Well I have decided to build a more friendly, daily drivable, 25-30mpg, expedition rig that will also be towed behind my E350. Am I nuts or what? I always wanted a Subaru brat as a kid and I happen to see one recently and decided to sale the Sami and buy a brat...
Thinking something like this

Have found a few good candidates, this is a 1982

Im thinking mild lift 2-3 inches, bigger meats,custom bumpers, custom rack for storage, and small Arb fridge with stove in the back for day trips....

The lift kits are more of a body lift - the drivetrain stays mostly in its original location - helps with the approach angle and rocker issues mostly (in addition to allowing bigger tires). Pretty popular up her in WA state.
