In 2002 while I was living in Kenai, Alaska, I pulled over to the side of the road one day to ask a Land Rover owner a few questions about his vehicle. He had a blue 127, with sand ladders, roof rack lock boxes, 70L water tank, etc. He told me he was a German doctor and "slumlord" of sorts and was traveling the world at the time I met him. He had just driven all over South America, toured the US and was finishing this leg of his journey in Alaska. He stated he would update his web-site through a sat phone and PC hook-up.
