still holding up well?

Been quite a while since my last update...

mileage is over 32,000 miles now.... seriously.

I was out of the country for about a month this summer. got back and started up my research/job again in the local forests and was getting frustrated on night runs looking for snakes and wildlife. The land Rover and its 6 hellas spoiled me, so I ordered an ebay LED bar today.

25" spot/flood combo. Some friend's have recently run the same company/seller's product on their trucks and were surprised for the money.

Plan is to mount it in the mouth of the bumper. hopefully it works out, I'm a bit weary given it's ChiCom origin, but hey, its worth a shot.

are you working with Godwin on the snakes/wildlife?

he is active over on ih8mud.

my action packer is currently out, only because I want it facing the driver side, not opening forward like a normal tool box (the lock is hard to reach, my wife cant reach it at all from outside the truck) before I can flip it though I need 1) a cord to keep the lid from flopping all the way open, and B) some longer bolts. Neither of those are a big deal, I have just been busy with my honey do list. + its not hard to put things off when it is this damn hot.

I'll probably just drill directly into the metal of the bumper or reinforce the mounting points with some small pieces of plate steel

Well the bar install couldn't have gone any smoother. Rather than buying the Totron bar with the mounts on the sides, I opted for a "Penton" (another ebay brand) whose mounts slide along a rail so they can be mounted a bit more universally.

I mounted the light bar (without drilling) by popping out the 2 upper push pins in the bumper mouth and running a bolt through the plastic and the metal brace it is secured to. Tightened everything down, wired it up with an ebay harness. It was all plug and play other than stripping a few wires to use different connections.

Just need to aim it tonight then retighten the mounts at the proper angle.

excuse the horrendous pictures and I will probably swap out that stick on button switch for a nicer one down the road if i add more lights.

note: the blue is just the lens film from the factory.

This thing is amazingly bright. this one 25" (ebay) LED bar is brighter than the 6 Hellas I had on my rover combined. The photos don't do it justice, given they were taken on my phone which automatically adjusts for the light changes in every photo.

UPDATE:

managed to hit 40,000 miles this weekend and out of celebration (and necessity), I had the factory BFG rugged trails replaced with a new set of BFG A/T KOs in the same 265 75 16 size.
