I've been busy. Finally got the backup camera finished and mounted to the tailgate. Mounted all of the switches for the window motors. Most important is that I got a ranch hand front bumper and used raptor liner for the grill and rear bumper. All the talk about bumpers had me really searching, then it hit me. You see in my day to day life I am a Prosecuting Attorney and I take high level felony cases to jury trial. A couple of years ago, I had a trial where the defendant was intentionally running people off the road. Crashing into them from behind with a ranch hand bumper. I reached out to the tow yard that now owns the truck driven by the defendant in the assaults. I asked him if he could recall where the bumper went. To my surprise, he still had the bumper with all of the markings from the forensics scientists that examined the paint transfers from the 9 cars he hit. I took that case to a Jury Trial for more than a week. He was found guilty and sentenced to 21 years in prison.

I had to do some cleaning, sanding, raptor lining and fabricating a new bracket. It is absolutely perfect.

That’s a fine looking ride! I’m a big fan of the vintage! I have the same truck with a 5 speed. I’ve put about 3” of life under mine and added a Detroit rear locker and a flat bed. I’m running 35”s and get along just great. I have owned 7.3 diesels and they are great.... but there’s nothing wrong with a 460. That’s why I’m still running one. Plenty of power to move my truck and anything I hook to it (up to and including 23,000 lbs on the gooseneck ball). I love these old trucks and I trust the design. Mine now has about 350k on it. I’m in Kentucky and would tear out to Montana right now and be confident that I’d have a great trip. Obviously I’ve rebuilt it. All of it. But it all lasted till 300k before the major rebuild. I made the truck new again and am in the process of wearing it out again- and I’m thinking it’s going to take a while because these things are tanks! Also- I’m fixing to add a 38 gallon rear tank too. I can squeeze 12 mpg out if mine if I’m easy on it and keep the speed to 65 or less. I think it’ll be a great upgrade.

That is a great looking truck. The first time infilled upon the way to Colorado I made the decision to upgrade to the 38 gal tank. There are a vast number of reasons that is a great idea.

I am struggling to decide on lift/tire combo. I am not wanting a crazy lift but I do want at least 35” maybe 37”s.

What roof rack system do you have on the cab?

Thanks! I have 4.10 gears and I think 37’s wouldn’t absolutely kill it. I have mulled over going to them next. I like the idea of a SRK for front lift. I’ve not done one yet but a close friend is fixing to do his 94’ with one. My other F-350 that I sold had a set of Atlas 4” over stock progressive leaves on the front. I couldn’t have been happier. But I sold that truck almost a year ago. At times I miss it. But it was a good decision to let it go. The Super Duty that replaces it is a GREAT truck. The roof rack is a set of Yakima Rain Gutter mounts with a pair of 1”x2” box tube steel home made bars. I have two more I can add for a total of 4. With all of them I can lay plywood down and walk around up there. In fact I’m wanting to invest in a RTT or build one. Lots of fun stuff you can do with these old trucks.

Ok guys. I’m finally starting to get somewhere with this build. Took my 2 youngest camping and found a few bugs to work out before a long distance trip but here’s where she stands.

Forget the talk, vaccinate him with a hot lead injection. Thieves suck and we need to get rid of them. I hope you get your truck back in one piece. You have done a lot of really nice work to it.
