Stitch and glue Lightweight platform update

I'm planning a soft side pop top for my SWB chevy and stich and glue would be perfect I think?
has anyone tried it?
I have built a few boats that way but not a pop top.
I feel it would be a great way to go.
Alternatives would be:
Aluminum which is harder for the average bear to fabricate, fair, attach to and paint
Solid fiberglass which would need a form to be built and that is more work by far than laying it up and finishing
Cedar strip which would be more labor intensive but might be pretty nice.
Just some thoughts
Hope I helped

Interesting idea. I like that its build using light weigh 1/4" ply. Where does it get its strength especially if its used as a sleeping platform which i assume it will be?

TIA.
