SOLD: a vintage BRUNTON POCKET TRANSIT.
$100 including shipping to continental US address.
Circa late 50s - 60s, I'd guess. Serial number 120227. This is the good one -- metal housing, heavy leather snap case and strap. Includes 90's era copy of Brunton pocket transit manual. Front latch has engraving from previous owner, a geology professor. Excellent condition, showing only light wear. Functions perfectly.
This is one of those great tools that are fun to own, even if one doesn't use it. And one could definitely use it, probably for another hundred years, the way these things are built. See the Winter 2009 issue of Overland Journal for Jonathan Hanson's discussion of this gear as classic kit.
