Thanks Dale,
You were such an encouragement. Sorry I won’t be able to meet you on the trail. Safe Travels my friend.

Great Jeep! FYI- for the new owner. We have had our OVS 270 on our 2015 Mexico Drones JKU full time traveling for 15 months. Heavier than the batwing and deployed over 150 days. No issues at all wind/rain etc... The mount areas are very thick on the Ursa Minor. We used 4 for this application. These Ursa minors are pretty bulletproof!

Thanks for the compliment. Rube really is a great jeep. I agree the mounting points and mounts are some kind of solid. I thought I might see some issues with the awning. I was wrong, not a single problem at all. Your rig looks awesome. I envy your travels. Again, thanks, I will pass your comments to the new owner.

Well the Jeep is in its new home in Charlotte, ready for the trails in NC.

@JRLTX thank you for the tutorials/details on the Jeep- I will be sure to take good care of it from here on out.

@mexicodrones that's great to hear a long term perspective- certainly it was a question/concern of mine. I also like your ladder- thinking that I may do something similar so that I can access from the outside as the default and leave upstairs completely set up. Anything you'd do similar/different if you were to do it again? Thanks!

I absolutely love my ladder and that it doubles as my Maxtrax mount. When two people live in a Jeep everything needs two purposes. We carry 7 frontrunner boxes inside the back seat area so we rarely use the inside entrance. Not sure how a couple would ever use the inside entrance long term anyway (one person departing without waking the other is difficult). The one issue is that with Maxtrax on they do become the high point of the Jeep, but they are also easily removable. (Added photo with Maxtrax) Enjoy your awesome new Jeep!
