My 2003 Subaru Baja is up for sale. It’s highly modified and includes a 3” lift and a dual range manual transmission. I’ve owned the vehicle since 2007 and I am the second owner. This vehicle has been my pride and joy for the last 12 years but it’s come time to sell my beloved Subie. Family is getting bigger and I scored an incredible deal on a 2011 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X crew cab 6 speed.

It’s been through so many adventures including an epic 30,000 mile overland expedition to Patagonia from Washington, DC in 2014. It’s also completed the southern Utah traverse in 2017.

The head gaskets and timing belt were replaced a couple years ago so there is no concern with any future head gasket failure.

In the past, I’ve had issues with the rear suspension with the weight I carry during many overland trips. Subiefish provided me with a great solution by utilizing Tundra Bilstein 5100 front struts in the rear of the Baja. The heavy duty struts and springs in the rear has been a game changer on providing the additional load capacity.

In addition, the Baja has a dual range manual transmission that came from a JDM 2000 Subaru Forester (Transmission code: TY755XS1AA). The transmission comes with a 1.447 gear reduction which gives the Subaru a crawl ratio of 28:1. The dual range proved very capable on a 2017 trip through southern Utah.

The only issues with the vehicle are purely cosmetic. There are some scratches, dents, scrapes that the vehicle accumulated through the 12 years I’ve owned it. The ABS light is on and it's been like that over the past 5 years. I haven't had any issues with this, so I haven't gotten around to troubleshooting it. There are some rips in the driver side seat. There is no rust to minimal surface rust in the undercarriage. The Mudrat offroad bumper is in poor cosmetic shape and could use a refresh or replacement. The vehicle also goes through a quart of oil every 3,000 miles. I usually check the engine oil every 1,000 miles.

NOTE: I am not interested in parting the vehicle or selling individual items. This is a complete packaged deal. I plan on keeping the ARB 2500 awning for my next vehicle, but I will leave the awning mounts on the Subaru.
