So, I did a thing... 1991 Ford E350 Quigley 4x4

Super excited about my new toy.
Short term stuff:
1. Clean it out (filthy inside) and get the AC filled/working.
2. Ceramic tint on all the windows.
3. Address trans/oil/etc leaks.
4. New front seats with swivels.
5. Strip out interior for some light insulation and coin flooring/durable lightweight cargo oriented interior.
6. New bench seats (two rows, something quick to remove.)

I'm in Southern California. Looking for a small shop to work with on this, if anyone has recommendations to check out OR stay away from!

The goal with the van is to take over hauling/utility duties, be a comfortable road trip vehicle, reliable and capable, AND be a cool way to show off some of the items I make and sell on my website! American Flag magnets, patches, stencils, medical and tactical gear, etc. This will NOT be a "van life" project showing the beauty of nature with a topless girl in a big hat. Sorry, lol...

Thanks for reading!

What a score!

But IMO a pity not to be used for remote camping hundreds of nights per year.

Without posting anything to social media, completely agree the wanking aspect usually dominates too much

Oh I’ll be camping in it for sure. Haul the dirt hike out there. Ride all day. Rinse off. Eat. Sleep. Repeat. I go out to have fun, not photograph some IG fame chaser girl. But to each their own. Excited to see where this van will get me. My jeep with a switch hauler dirtbike hauler was pretty capable. The trailer was always a solid way to head out but the van will be a simpler option by far.

Man, it's been a busy few months, between family stuff, work stuff, and the usual rat race, the van progress has suffered. But I was able to knock some stuff off the To Do list!

Done:
  • New weather stripping on the front doors installed, had to remove the cowl, fenders, and more, just to adjust the damn door hinges AND the strikes to allow them to close (still need to slam the driver side door to fully close).
  • New window sweeps and velvety liners for the front windows.
  • New window tint all around, dual layer ceramic, very efficient for heat, UV, and light.
  • Fuel tanks dropped, cleaned, lined, painted.
  • New Method MR705 wheels and BFG KO2s.
  • Painted front grill satin black.
  • 2021 Honda Odyssey second row seats for driver, passenger, and 2nd and 3rd rows (still need to fine tune front brackets outward 2" then paint)
  • LED dome light bulbs
  • New Quigley rear driveshaft
  • New steering stabilizer (neighbor randomly had one that fits perfect!)
  • Front and rear AC/heat working
  • Grayman Tactical Rigid Molle Panel on engine cover
  • Covercraft dash cover
  • Cargo van 3/16" rubber diamond floor mat in rear
  • Redline Tuning hood struts (custom fit)
  • Rear bumper straightened
  • new leaf springs, shackles, u-bolts, hardware
  • New Magnaflow high tuck exhaust (custom) smooth deep and quite tone
  • Some dents fixed
  • Lots of cleaning...
Not installed:
  • New LED head lights
  • New tail lights
  • New side marker lights
  • Rear and barn door weather stripping
  • Rough Country LED interior lights
  • Garmin wireless back up camera
  • New Quigley front driveshaft
  • Grayman Tactical Rigid Molle Panel on doors
  • Cargo van 3/16" rubber diamond floor mat in front
  • Ruff Stuff Specialties differentials covers with LubeLocker gaskets
  • B&M extended transmission pan (+2 quarts) with Lube Locker gasket
  • 2020 Ford Raptor side steps
To Do Still:
  • Buy Garmin Overlander
  • Weld up cracks in doors and body (spot welds, door hinge areas)
  • Roof dent
  • Install Killmat and Dynamat
  • Fully gut interior, clean, prep, paint/coat (Line-x? Paint? Suggestions?)
  • Paint bumpers and chrome window trim black
  • ...lots of cleaning, lol
