Yeah I have been thinking about the little tank thing for a while. I hate having all these empty 1lb ers lying around. I am not sure what to do with them. Anyway, its not just that the tank is expensive, then you have to add all the hoses and fittings. For instance I have a small grill and a single burner that I always use. You could easily spend another $50 on that.
I have had great luck refilling the 1lb tanks with the adapter that Harbor freight sells. Just need to freeze the 1lb tanks overnight first. I also find that leaving a little in the 1lb tank helps get them almost full. The best part is you can refill and always have full tanks with you. I have two of the 1 1/2 gallon propane tanks for the trips with larger number of people. Cooking and lighting just burn up too much propane when the number of people gets over 10.
