Wow! That chrome tape really takes me back to the ‘85 Nissan 4x4 our family had when I was growing up. I haven’t seen that in ages, it looks awesome on yours. And your photos are always top notch ?
Do you have a build thread for the 3rd gen?

Wow sorry I missed this! Haha the chrome makes me laugh. Sometime I ask myself why it's still on the truck but then I realize that it makes it different than everyone elses build, so therefore I like it more.... plus the 80s/90s cool factor is hard to beat. Thanks for noticing ;)

I need to bring my build thread for it over to Expo. But in the meantime: https://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/270896-**-duster-2-0-00-4runner-sr5**.html

Well being as there’s no thread for show us your weird JDM Toyota, figured I’d post up here, will also start a build thread in this category to track my progress and get feedback from the forum!

Here’s my 2000 Toyota Dyna 4x4, I imported it from Japan just over a year ago. Loving it so far.
3.0L diesel (5L engine) manual locking AISIN hubs, 4H / 4L, 5spd manual, 4-door, seats 6, 6.5’ box, 1.25t chassis, and the best part? Only 12,000kms on the clock ad not a spot of rust when I got it!

The day I picked it up:

Camper and truck are still very much a work in progress but so far very happy with the direction things are going. Hoping that posting on here will keep me inspired to keep chipping away at things!

Love your truck. Please take a moment and tell us about it.

That's so cool. Thanks for sharing.

What kind of fuel economy can it get and is it comfortable?

Be sure to protect the undercarriage so your harsh winters don't rot it out. I use Fluid Film but I've heard their are better options.

I've been lurking on this forum for the last couple years. There have been some amazing rigs posted on this thread. I thought I would post my truck.

Here's Luna my super late 2004 Tacoma. We've been though a lot in the last almost 16 years. Proud to say that I'm the only one to ever change her oil.

Back in the day, late 2004 or early 2005 on one of her first wheeling trips. Bone stock (except for the CB) I took her to Hollister Hills.

One of my favorite pics from her early days playing at Prairie City out side of Sacramento CA.
IMG_2614.JPG

Back in my "young and dumb" days (around 2009/2010ish), I decided to take her out for a "little air." Thank goodness I upgraded her suspension.

Different decade (2017/2018), new Prairie City poser pic. Fancy new rear high clearance rear bumper!!!

2019, finally installed bumper and winch purchased in 2015 and relocated CB antenna.

Making a trip over the 80 summit late Nov-19 (taken with a busted iPhone camera ?).

Checking out the Rubicon Trail from across the lake while out looking for some X-mas trees winter 2019. I can tell she wants to hit the trail! Oh man, what this new decade will bring!

Thanks! Fuel economy is quite good, economy doesn’t actually seem to change a lot if the truck is empty or loaded down. Pretty much a steady 23-24mpg.

Pretty comfortable to ride in, a bit noisy, but have done a few 10h plus drives and not bad at all. The bigger tires made a big difference.

I recently bought a '19 Tacoma. I'm actually surprised with myself that I didn't buy a Gladiator, being a Jeep guy? But, had bought a 2018 4Runner Limited for the wife, which is awesome, and I kept looking at the Tacomas? Plus, what I like is it being an extended cab, 6 ft. bed, rear locker, technology package, for a great price! Yeah, Toyota build quality was also of mind, and as well that I highly dislike my local Jeep dealer.

Anyway, it's fun to drive! I'm not exactly sure what I want to do with it, with its payload of 1140#s? I really like the access cab, and I just didn't need the rear seats in the double-cab.

We'll see what happens? :D

I've always been fond of the Access Cab as well. If I were to build out a late model Tacoma it would certainly be an Access Cab. We don't have kids and the back seat in the Double Cab is still a joke for full grown adults so it's not like we are missing out on much there either. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
